A trove of Hankies

A Hitty friend in Texas was clearing out some family cupboards, and sent a giant box of the resulting textile treasures to the lucky Quimper Hittys…

Where to begin?

Where to begin?

So many tiny lovely perfect little bits of cloth, which one shall we start with? Do we dare apply the scissors to these pretty things? Shall we make nightgowns, under clothes, tea gowns?  Patience and Rose are overwhelmed…

  1. The Quimper Hittys are indeed well gifted here. I am so looking forward to what they may come up with amongst those tantalizing linens that have come their way. Oh, if we all did faggoting and tiny applique and embroidery on a daily basis! It will be an honor to see how the textile knowledge and application that is housed within the Quimper cupboard, turn these beauties into new creations for the Hittys. I can’t wait to see.

  2. as along time hoarder of old textiles and baby gowns I appreciate what a box of wonders you have received!! The sheer joy of just looking, touching and imagining is a gift in itself!! Looking forward to what your very nimble fingers produce! I am sure it will be lovely. The Quimper Hittys will be the envy of all!!

  3. What a lovely gift of exquisite old fabrics and such pretty embroidery. The girls must be looking forward to new outfits and accessories.
