  1. Thanks for the reminder! Hitty Lucy is rushing to the bookshop to find something for H. Gisella who is convalescing again. She wants to know which of the Tiggywinkles or Tittlemouses is the subject of the Favola della Signora..? Lucy thinks Constance’s dress is delightfully bookish somehow, but she is not quite sure why! H. Lucy has an arrangement with the bookseller, that if she dusts the entire very well stocked bookshop, she may choose a small book as wages.

    • The book is La Favola della Signora Riccio Rotolò – one of our favourites! Books for wages are a good plan, if she chooses at least one cook book and as long as another Hitty works for groceries!

  2. Hitty Noel has a dress like Constance’s frock and she rushed to don it and sit down by the fire with an book and of course a cup of tea. She has since been joined by the rest of the girls all with their noses in their books. Thank you for bringing this event to our attention…Viva La Books!!

    • Excellent…my Hittys adore reading – they have quite a little library! I think the dress Constance is wearing and the one Noel has must have been given by a mutual very generous Hitty friend! I love the fabric!
