February Beach Gallery

Boardwalk

A wet beginning to February! Agathe and Opal headed down to the beach to see if anything interesting was going on.

Wave Art

The waves create ever-changing artistic effects with driftwood and stones…

…this Rock Art installation was definitely deliberate…

We Are Rocks

Opal and Agathe imitated a couple of stones for a moment, but did not blend in very well.

Boom Chain Log carving

Tucked into a corner of the beach, they found a carved bowl made on a boom log with the chain still attached.

  1. Oh my goodness we were awestruck by the wonderful and amazing treasures on your beach! I always call Jim to look over my shoulder when there is a new Quimper Hitty post, and we ooooh and ahhhhh together. Such delight!

    • We were rather amazed ourselves! We like the idea of artworks made for ephemeral enjoyment – the memory gives joy, and we like that these things are just lying around there for people to stumble upon, and that they have been left for the next stumbler-upon…

    • It is the kind of art that you have to stop and notice, or it just looks like natural assemblages. Somehow we saw art everywhere today, and were inspired to make a little bit of our own!

  2. Your entire world seems to be a wonderful art gallery. And the Quimper HIttys and their person have the grace and imagination to see it and share it with us. Thank you.

  3. Gosh! And all we found on OUR beach, this week, was an old purple shoe! Still, it was enough to inspire the Pocket Dolls!
Next visit we must have a trip to your beach – no matter what the weather!

  4. What beautiful beach treasures. Those pieces of driftwood are artistically painted and carved. Nice beach art by Agathe and Opal.
