Hittys on Kitty Islet

Climbing up

Climbing up

It was a beautiful sunny day on the weekend, and Tatty and Carline hadn’t been outside for ages, so the human tucked them into her pocket for a trip to the sea shore.  They spent a couple of hours being the Hittys of Kitty Islet!

Barnacles

They found some really enormous barnacles clinging to the rocks like stalactites,

And some little barnacles, mussels, limpets and sea anemones in the tidepools.

wild ducks

A pretty little wild duck scooted past…

Friendly ducks

And two friendly little ducks swam right up looking for some crumbs!

Quack

The ducks started to follow them home, but the Quimper Hitty cupboard is not set up for poultry, so Tatty shoo-ed them away.

  1. Marie Claire offers her expertise on all things poultry if the girls need any advice in the future.. Great photos…for those of us in the land locked Midwest seeing your ocean, tide pools, shore…is great fun. And of course getting to see the girls exploring is an added treat!

  2. I used to live in the mid west, I remember blizzards in winter and pontoons on the lake in summer, but no ducks! The Quimper Hittys will certainly consult Marie Claire if they decide to go into poultry-keeping.
