Anna Inlet Plants

Little Spruce

Little Spruce

The plants of Anna Inlet were varied and interesting. Tansy liked this wee Spruce tree, it will need to increase in age, girth and height to become be one of the dominant trees of the mature forest on Haida Gwaii.

…but the deer will keep this little salal plant from becoming an impenetrable hedge…

Beach Asparagus

Beach Asparagus

…Tansy did find a mature crop of beach asparagus (which by the way is delicious steamed or pickled)!

…She had a bit of trouble thrashing her way through the beach grass…

The creek was wide and deep – Tansy was glad of this handy stump to rest in half way across!

  1. What an amazing adventure Tansy is having! And I am learning much about plants I have never before seen. Thanks you Tansy and Favorite Photographer!

  2. Yes, thank you. Just looked up where Haida Gwaii is located. Having done that, it made it more entrancing to see all of that flora that seems to be abundant there.

  3. Goodness these photos may be some of my very favorite… that beach asparagus looks like the “real” thing..how interesting. The pic of Tansy in the stump…great. Always a joy to take a stroll with the Quimper HIttys!
