Rainy Garden

Fig

Fig

The garden seemed damp and autumnal this morning – Constance and I  took a short turn around to see what was going on…

Maple

Maple

The Japanese Maple is beautiful – the bark is red, and the leaves turn yellow and brown.

Rhododendron

Rhododendron

The evergreen Rhododendron is  not dismayed by the season’s change, its leaves stay green, and it is even flowering!

Larch

Larch

On the other hand the larch is a deciduous conifer, and its needles turn colour and fall off.

Oak

Oak

We like all the colours in the individual oak leaves as they change…

Woodpile

Woodpile

…and on this stormy weekend it is comforting to see the nicely stacked woodpile.

  1. Well constance, the world is upside down!!!! Although we had frost this morning, the sun is out and shining now!!! Our larch is still very green and has all its needles on…some red and gold around but mostly green still!!! If the rain gets to you, you are welcome to visit! Smiles and cheers from Sutton!

  2. beautiful photos…just lovely. Fall has come to Mo…all the hardwoods are beginning to turn. I am hoping for a long mild fall. and a short mild winter!! (I can dream!). Thanks for a wonderful autumnal walk.
