Thinning

Happy little seedlings

Cotyledons and first tiny leaves

Last week Min’s Bee Balm seedlings were 2 cm tall,  had their little round primary leaves (cotyledons) and were just getting their first real leaves!

This week the wee plants have doubled in size, are getting their second pair of true leaves, and starting to look spindly.

Time to pull some out.

To the compost

To the compost

It might seem heartless, but we have to do it, so the ones we keep will be healthier. Min took a big bucket to the compost…

Grow Bee Balm, Grow!

  1. With that tender loving gaze and heart’s cry from Min, I feel sure Min will have lovely plants in the near future.

  2. Min is such a good little gardener. And those little plants did not die in vain…they are busy becoming compost! Hope that Min’s bee balm grows leaps and bounds!
