Happy Canada Day 2016!
Almost all Constance’s favourite recipes begin with butter!
We like Fanny Farmer’s Sugar Cooky recipe…
…and maple syrup mixed with icing sugar makes a delicious filling.
Our organic natural red food colouring is a bit orange, but oh well…
They taste perfectly fine!
Happy Canada Day!

And they look simply scrumptious! The Quimper Hittys do bake a fine sugar cookie!
We do like the recipe – it doesn’t make too many thousands!
Happy Canada Day! And, who is the handsome young fellow behind the stack of cookies?
Ah, that would be Prince Tamino – hiding his lack of clocked stockings and nankeen breeches! He’ll be out to play at some point when I have adjusted his wardrobe.
I spy a very handsome prince. I see that the Hitty’s are treating him very well by inviting him to the maple leaf cookie soiree. Yum. They look delicious. Happy Canada Day to all our ever so special Hittys and humans.
He is rather a charmer, so to speak…but is awaiting wardrobe adjustments!
Happy Canada Day! Those cookies look yummy!
Thank you very much – they were!
A great way to celebrate your special day! Always fun to see the girls together! Hope everyone has a grand weekend.
We like weekends that start with an extra day off – hooray!
many happy days! great to see the Hittys celebrating. The cookie filling sounds very interesting.
It was interesting – and delicious! I am always glad when the Hittys encourage me towards baking!
Ah, Fanny Farmer! that brings back memories of my mom’s kitchen. She still has her old and dear copy, held together with elastic bands.
Happy Canada day.
My favourite cookbooks fall open at my favourite recipes – very handy!
Happy Canada Day to you and your QH household. What a glorious celebratory group they make in that last photo. Min just makes me smile every time I see her. Great photos as usual.
Min is very cheerful – it seems like she can’t help it! We are always glad of her infusions of delight!
