Mary Ann climbs a Hill

Up the Hill Steps

Up the Hill Steps

Mary Ann and I went for an evening stroll up the hill behind our house.

The spiders have been busy weaving…

… their sticky domes sparkle and twinkle and quiver in the breeze.

Dry Grass

Dry Grass

We loved the light in the grass at the top of the hill …

Golden Hour

…and on the way home everything seemed touched with gold.

Quiet

How lucky we are to step out the door and walk in such peaceful beauty.

  1. The Quimper Hittys and their humans live in such a serene and beautiful “habitat”. The sensation of that beauty actually permeates through your photos and is received by those of us who are privileged observers. Mary Ann’s face is angelic. Love her. Love You.

    • Mary Ann is a darling girl. She was carved in Argentina, painted and dressed in Pennsylvania, and has come to roost in the Quimper Hitty Cupboard where we love her slightly anxious and yet hopeful view of the world.

  2. ah, such a lovely peek at our beautiful Victoria. Sometimes in the busyness of day to day, I forget what an amazing place we live in. Thanks for the reminder! I bought a bag of scraps last night at my guild meeting, and have some vintage, tiny prints that you might be interested in. Maybe once my kids are back in school we could meet up for a visit.

  3. I am sooo far behind with keeping up with your blog posts! I will have to try and sit down tomorrow morning to catch up.

You live in a beautiful place, and I just love seeing what all the Quimper Hittys get up to. Looks like Hitty Mary Ann had a lovely time out climbing the hill to see the beautiful view.

    • It has been a busy summer around here as well – but we do try and take time to appreciate our beautiful corner of the world! The Hittys have been having fun this summer – Tansy off in Haida Gwaii and the rest of them being domesticated at home!

  4. Such realistic pictures. May I as questions about your yarn for the shawls? Brand, size, where purchased. Thanks.
