Michaelmas Daisies

Sign of Autumn

Sign of Autumn

On our walk home yesterday, Constance and I found one of our favourite signs of fall…

Daisies

Daisies

…Michaelmas Daisies, in clusters of sweet purple.

Oh Deer!

Oh Deer!

We bought a flowerpot full of sweet blossoms for our windowsill garden…but we discovered that deer are partial to them too.

Sweet Bouquet

Sweet Bouquet

…..but Constance picked some yesterday for a wee tussie-mussie…

a bud

…and she discovered a bud still on the plant!

    • Yes – we wonder why there are giant clumps of them blooming everywhere, but they get eaten off our windowledge? Anyway, the pot of leaves with one bud is now tucked behind the rosemary plant and next to the onion, which the deer hate!

    • We are used to small tribulations, and just try and enjoy the plant and animal life as we encounter it. It was a bit surprising to go to bed with purple on the windowledge and then wake up to green!

  1. Fall is our favorite time of year also. The beautiful flowers, the changing leaves and migration. It’s an exciting time. I admire the way Constance is making the best of the deer browsing situation by bringing the flowers indoors. She is very resourceful.

    • Luckily she had a little bouquet indoors, but the rest of the daisy plant is trying to skulk on the ledge outside our window between the rosemary and the onion! We’ll see if the deer are fooled!
