Finnish Independence Day 2017

Happy 100th

Constance would like to wish all her Finnish friends and relations, and their friends and relations a Hyvää Itsenäisyyspäivää  –  a very Happy Birthday to Finland!!!

Two candles are lit and placed in a window on Finnish Independence Day, as a signal that people would find a safe haven in the house during times of oppression.

Happy 100 years of Independence, Finland! May many candles be lit tonight!

  1. I have read and heard much about Finland. My brother has been there and came away very impressed with the people and their land. As always your photo is lovely.
