Tatty Raincoat
A few weeks ago, we had a tiny sprinkle of rain, and Tatty found a wrecked umbrella in our front yard. She nobly agreed with the human that it could be sacrificed to make a pretty fine Hitty raincoat…Click raincoat pattern and method to link to the Quimper Hitty post about making raincoats.

…Here is Tatty, modelling the new raingear, and hoping for rain…

…but since there isn’t any rain in the forecast for at least a week, Tatty says she’ll have a go on our Buck Rogers Sprinkler.
We are allowed to water established trees like our pear tree and our apple tree for an hour on Saturdays and an hour on Wednesdays. The Quimper Hitty Human is not enthusiastic about Tatty’s plan…

Zippy new coat, Tatty! And a great up-cycle!
Thanks! Now we are ready for summer rain, when it eventually comes!
Good for you, ready for the time when it comes…very pretty raincoat, Tatty!
Tatty thinks this is a good use for a broken umbrella, if we can get 4 Hitty raincoats out if it!
Taty’s new raincoat is delightful and I hope that the soothing rains will soon be with you! We’ve had spectacular rain storms here this week that have really helped to ease our draught and to calm the smoke from the forest fires. Perhaps Tatty could be persuaded to stand at the periphery of the Buck Rogers sprinkler rather than risking being whirled off into space? 🙂
I think she was rather hoping to whirl off into space actually – she has been very inspired by recent news from Pluto!
what a great little raincoat. You are so clever! As for Tatty.. we are all waiting anxiously for that sprinkler to go off!!
I am glad you like it! Tatty surely does. She wants me to make one for Dulcie too, luckily I can comply!
I love the raincoat! Good use of cute fabric, but then you are always inventive!
I thought that little broken umbrella had “Hitty” written all over it!
Definitely looks like a coat of many colors – Tatty looks very happy – I think she loves her raincoat.
She likes it a lot!
Love your site. I look forward to it every day.
Thank you so much! I have fun writing the blog, and am very glad you enjoy reading it – comments are great encouragement!
It was a beautiful umbrella. Even better as a raincoat for Tatty.
Tatty thinks so too!
