Tea Cups and Cutlery
While the human was in Oregon, she and her carving companions made a small excursion to the local Antique Store “The Butler Did It“. With complete and utter delight, the human noticed a partial set of blue painted tin tea cups, saucers and plates. They were purchased because they exactly matched the tea things back in the Quimper Hitty Cupboard. In this picture, the knives, forks, spoons and items in front of them are from the shop in Oregon. Behind the cutlery is the tea set from the human’s grandma…a perfect exact match!
Gráinne thinks the tea things are rather dainty…
How very exciting for you and for your human. Congratuations on a new and lovely invstment for your home!
Love,
Roberta Not-Quite-Hitty
The dolls are very excited about being able to set more places at the table!
Isn’t that a wonderful & magical feeling?! What a blessing for The Cupboard! (They’re charming!) And the best of luck to Mary Ann if she attempts a refinement of Gráinne…
I always loved that tea set of my grandma’s, and was amazed to see more pieces of it in that little shop! Mary Ann is ever hopeful…
Wow, how perfect! Lovely tea set! And if Grainne’s beverage of choice is Coca-Cola, I’m with her! 🙂
It was perfect! I am so glad we went out for an excursion that day!
A truly amazing find for the Hittys!
They plan to make good use of all of it!
Well, that was meant to be! What delicious synchronicity! And, it looks like Constance and Mary Ann might have their hands full with Grainne! She might be leading Tatty and the Twins and Min into some major mischief!
Well, that was worth the trip I said to myself…gleefully gloating even before Gráinne showed her personality!
oh how lovely. And so special that the original set came from your Grandmother…wow. What a wonderful find. I agree it was meant to be! And now for Grainne …I think Mary Ann had better set aside a good bit of time to get your little Pirate Miss tea party ready!!! Should be interesting. Min must be totally besotted with Grainne!!!
I think it was meant to be! And the Quimper Hittys are meant to drink tea – preferably out of tea cups, but try and tell that to Gráinne!
Looks to me that it’s more likely Grainne will influence Tatty than that Mary Ann will influence either of them. Tatty looks absolutely delighted with her new sister.
Tatty was looking forward to showing her the ropes, but it seems Gráinne has a thing or two to teach Tatty – look out!
what a perfectly marvelous find, they were just waiting for you. At least the bottle is coke and not something a little more Irish. There are going to be some hi-jinks in the cupboard.
Gráinne says that coca cola is her one and only vice – I wonder if I believe her!
You certainly have a variety of characters in the QH household….lovely dish set…what a very nice find for you.
The dolls have very varied characters – it can get quite rambunctious in the cupboard. Thank goodness for the calm and steady girls!
