Little Tin Bed

A sweet little antique tin dolly bed was given to us by our friend the Dollhouse Lady…it came with an old mattress…

…and a coverlet.

The bed had a channel for a canopy rod, but didn’t come with one… Constance says this modified car antenna is an excellent substitute.

Too Small

Too Small

The only problem is that the denizens of the Quimper Hitty cupboard are all too big to fit comfortably in the bed…

…however we have the potential to solve that problem.

  1. You always double up our pleasure…first of giving and then of seeing what it becomes!!! That wonderful talented creative mind of yours never goes idle! And you share all the fun! Thank you so much. Can’t wait to see this new friend!!

    • I do have lots of fun with my Hittys – but I would say that my pleasure is doubled first when I get a little surprise gift and then when my thoughts percolate and something amusing is the result! Thank You!

  2. This bed is adorable and I can’t wait to see the new occupant you’re going to carve. Be sure to post progress pictures, please and thank you.

    • Isn’t it a cute bed! I will be carving the wee one in spare moments during some time off, but despite it being so small I think it might take a while. I thought that announcing my intention on the blog would mean I can’t wriggle out of it! I will try and photograph the process but sometimes get distracted!

    • I think Pip and five friends could keep the bed warm, I like the dress too, now that I see it for itself rather than for what I thought it would look like when I was making it. That is the good thing about putting something away for a year or so!

  3. The little bed is darling..such a vintage wonder. I look forward to seeing the new little person emerge. I am sure that Constance and her sisters will make the wee one welcome. Nice photos!
